Saturn
Thursday, November 12, 2009 @ 2:06 PM

I really should be preparing for my day in sunway... but what the heck. Why not type a blog post while I still have the idea in my head ey.

SO anyway, I just remembered something reasonably awesome from my short youth. HAH. YOUTH. GET IT. Nevermind. It was around 10 years ago, me thinks, or maybe longer. I was sitting in my mom's car, looking out the window somewhere in pj/kl. Kids tend to not know where they are at the moment you see. So I was looking up in the sky in the afternoon, watching clouds, trying to find any odd looking clouds that resemble something familiar.. when I saw this faintly outlined orb with a ring around it. First I thought it was the moon. But it can't be, the moon was next to it, in a much clearer view. It definitely isn't the sun cause it's not shining... so what can it be?

A planet! OMG. I may be young, but even then I knew I couldn't have seen a planet so far from Earth with nothing but my naked eye. So I did everything I could to convince me it's not real. I wiped the car windows, just in case it was a stain, but all I did was well, stained it. I blinked violently, but all I manage to do was lose sight of it for a few seconds (because it was reaaaally faint). I even slapped my self, in fear I was hallucinating. But it remained there, that celestial body. So I told my parents, who were obviously, like any other parents, would think it was just a kid's fantasy and ignore them, like the ignorant people they are...

So I was the only one who saw Saturn that day. During the day time, with my naked eye. It was half the size of the moon but even though it was really faint, you could see the ring it had around it. There was no talk about people seeing any planets that day, unlike the buzz they had when the moon eclipse came about. So I was forced into thinking I did not see it. But I know I saw it with my two naked eyes. I must have been really lucky that day.

I tried googling to see if anyone had the same experience with me, but I have only managed to get one result of proof that it is possible to see Saturn in the day time. So I'm asking, if there are any of you who have encountered strange things like this, send me a comment, reply, blog post, note, email... whatever. I want to know <3
